Immigration
Any government must
consider the security and well-being of its
citizens as its highest priority. In our country
today, unchecked and unregulated immigration
threatens to overwhelm state and local-level
resources and poses a threat to our national
security.
We must act now to
maintain an appropriate level of security along
our borders. The border fence that is currently
under construction along the U.S.-Mexican border
must be completed in a timely manner, but this
band-aid solution will only provide limited
short-term relief.
Immigration policy
must be reassessed and innovative yet practical
solutions are in short supply. If elected,
Michael B. Younan will work with other members
of Congress and the myriad agencies that ensure
our national security to implement new
strategies to reduce visa processing times and
bolster legal avenues of immigration, in an
effort to curb illegal border crossings and
improve our nation’s security. |
