2nd Amendment
Our nation’s
Founding Fathers established a Bill of Rights to
protect basic, inalienable freedoms. Recently,
the United States Supreme Court reaffirmed the
citizen’s right to bear arms when it ruled the
Washington, D.C. weapons ban unconstitutional.
Michael B. Younan supports the Court’s decision
as a step in the right direction for national
weapons policy. Existing gun-control laws, such
as the requirement to register all weapons and
present proof of identification on purchase of a
weapon, are sufficient enough to reduce the risk
of weapons crimes while enabling Americans to
defend themselves.
